Time passes all too swift. There have been few changes in Mark since the last time I wrote.
This past week Mark visited with his neurologist. The Nurse Practitioner has seen improvements in Mark since his last visit in December in 2007. Mark is still unable to move his left side. The NP said that this far out from having his stroke, it is highly unlikely that he will regain movement in the left side limbs. However he may continue to have minor improvements. Usually in the first 18 months some movement can be regained. There are a few months left in the time window. She was impressed with the flexibility in his left hand and leg. So the range of motion exercises have been helping.
A week ago, Mark saw his oncologist. The only word that we got was that the PSA's continue to decrease. Mark is still undergoing the hormonal treatments.
Mark is tired of being in the nursing home. I can't express enough how thankful he is for the visits his friends make, the cards that he receives and for being kept in everyone's prayers. The family hopes you will make some time if not to just drop him a line. He needs the support of his friends, family & colleagues.
Thank you all for all that you've done to help. Remember the golf outing on July 19 - get your reservations in by July 6. If you are unable to golf, donations will be greatly accepted as well.
God bless you all!
Laura
