Unfortunately, Mark is yet waiting for pre-authorization from Medicaid to begin his therapy. On 8/7/07, Sue in the authorization department said that they received his evaluation on 7/25/07, and it is still up for review. Reviews are done on a date-received basis; we do not know how many are ahead of Mark, but we are hoping they will get to his case soon.
Meanwhile, Mark is hanging in there - he enjoys all visitors and appreciates the company. He has his cell phone in his room now. He does not keep it on all the time, but listens to messages when someone is there to get it out of the drawer for him; he can also return calls - it helps Mark to know that he is not forgotten. His phone number is 744-0108; please call and tell him hello if you get a chance.
Mark gets lonely a lot. It is very hard right now and he worries too much when he is alone. Please visit or send cards if possible.
He has been fitted for a wheel chair and has received a loaner wheel chair that he can move himself about in, as long as he can get comfortable in it.
It is still a waiting game; please continue your prayers that therapy may start soon.
Remind Mark that he is never alone; God is always there with him, even on the bleakest days, giving him strength and courage.
It will be the greatest day when I can tell you all a different story; a day when Mark will be able to leave the nursing home. Until then, please do not give up; please visit and pray; help Mark help himself.
Thank you. May God Bless Mark and all of you.
We love you brother.
Chris Ryan
