1/5/08 was Mark's 55th birthday. Several people stopped in to see him to wish him a very Happy Birthday. His sons brought him a prime rib dinner which he enjoyed very much. His siblings brought food to share with the boys. Another friend made him a book stand so that he can read. It was a very enjoyable day for him.
Mark's physical therapy officially ended on December 31. Now the family is trying to figure out the next step. We ask anyone who might be able to help, to please contact us.
A promising sign is that when Mark yawns his left arm does move a little. Perhaps reflex, but none the less a positive sign that there is some chemical reaction taking place for the brain to get the message to move the arm.
PSA's are significantly down. The cancer seems to be dormant at this time. Mark keeps his hopes up that someday he will be able to move his left arm and leg and be able to walk.
Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Remember him with visits and/or card/letters. He enjoys knowing that others are close by in thought and prayer. If you want to go visit him - take time to read to him or maybe encourage him to write in his journal. There is also a notebook that you can sign to leave your thoughts or just to let the family know you were there.
