October 13, 2009 - Mark update

I apologize that there have not been any updates since April.

In June, Mark and his third son Andrew took an Amtrak train to Los Angeles to watch Eric graduate from UCLA with his PhD in Chemical Engineering. It was a long & excruciating trip but was made none the less. As soon as the graduation was over, he was ready to return to Kalamazoo to his comfort zoone at the nursing home. I was so proud of Andrew for being his travel buddy for the trip there and back. It was not easy!! Thank you Andrew for making his dream become a reality!

This morning, Mark had a possible stroke. He was taken to Broson hospital. While there tests were run. He had a massive seizure a bout 2:20 this afternoon. That has left him pretty much unresponsive. There are masses on the left lung, left hip and the brain. The pressure on the brain has caused him to lose his speech.

Mark is in room E-122 on the main floor.
