Reflection - Oct 24, 2009

More than 200 people visited with friends and family and paid their final respects to Mark at the visitation at Langelands on Saturday. What a beautiful tribute. Many display boards of pictures chronicled Mark's 56 years of life. Pictures from birth through the past couple of years as he tried to recover from his stroke. The boys decided to play the 1970 Loy Norrix High School Dance Band record album as background music. It was nice to see people laughing and smiling as they remembered how Mark has impacted their life.

Tomorrow is the fina goodbye to an ever loved father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend! Brian has put together a beautiful homecoming tribute for his father. He finished it prior to Mark's passing. He read it to Mark and received his blessing.

Please come join the family at the First United Methodist Church, 212 S Park Street in Kalamazoo MI tomorrow at 11 AM. There will be time to share in fellowship with the boys and the extended family afterwards.

Mark will be cremated. His ashes will come back to the First United Methodist Church's columbarium.

If you are not able to attend the services tomorrow - please leave a note or a memory of Mark on this webiste for the boys to read later.

Thank you to everyone for your support during the past 2 1/2 years. The family appreciates all that you have done. The family is so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Dear Laura and family,

I would like to extend my sympathy for your loss. I am saddened to hear of Mark's passing but so glad to know that when he left this earth he went to be with our Lord. I remember playing at the Lyster house when we were kids. Mark was always a lot of fun. Even though he was older, he played with us "little kids" and always seemed to enjoy it.

I pray for peace and comfort for all of you. God bless you.

Love, Linda (Themins) Potocki
